No. You conclude a lease agreement with an investor without knowing, if it will be permitted to build a solar power plant on the area. The investor needs to secure the land for them first, so they can invest the effort to request all the permits. This is a lenghty process of about 18 months. The lease agreement will include a clause that it only will start after the permit was granted.

The time to conclude a lease agreement can vary depending on several factors, including negotiation time, legal considerations, and specific project requirements. Generally, it can take anywhere from a few weeks to several months. The more decisive you are, the faster this step can be concluded.

Q: My land is currently under lease for agricultural use. How can I use it for the construction of a PV plant?

To use land currently leased for agriculture for a solar PV plant, you'll need to renegotiate or terminate the existing lease. In Germany you can terminate the lease early at each end of the agricultural year.
